Culture

Back in sixth grade, I was partnered up with a girl from Pakistan. We were assigned to do a geography project and had to meet up together outside of class. She had invited me over to her house to work on the project. My mom dropped me off, and as I walked in, I thought to myself how different the inside of her house looked compared to mine. Everything was colorful and it smelled like food that I've never smelled before. We sat down and her mother came in, wearing this outfit with the brightest, prettiest colors. I was amazed at how different everything was, and her accent, too. We spent hours talking about their homeland and it was interesting to hear what "fun" was to them and what they did in their free time.
